"By this time next year, I'll be writing for TV!"

That was my bold claim in front of 800 people at the London Screenwriter's Festival. Two months later I'm still sticking to that claim.

So what have I done about it?

Let me start by saying that 2014 was an unbelievably busy year for me with three writing commissions and four lead acting roles on stage as well as my own writing projects. It made me realise exactly where my passions lie and the rut I've been in with a cosy day job and fulfilling hobbies. LSF 2014 made me really consider and crystalise my goals- I want to be part of the story factory for soaps- and while I went straight from that into a three month panto dame job (til Saturday) I've managed to stay focused and keep my writing on the boil.

I've started 2015 feeling like I've stepped on the throttle. Maybe it has something to do with the two 5k runs I did on New Year's Day. I've already entered two competitions (actually 4 since LSF). I've identified the other competitions I want to enter in the coming months and picked the projects I'll be working on for them. I've gone through every agent in the book, researching and deciding who I'd like to approach to represent me- they'll be hearing from me in due course. And Yvonne Grace's fantastic 'How To Write For Serials' has been my nightly home time bus companion.

This is the exciting time, before I start getting rejections and knockbacks. Anything and everything is possible right now! Let's see how far I can get.
